HAVE YOU EVER ASKED...
-
Why does my body feel like it’s constantly under attack?
-
Why are my joints stiff and aching before I even get out of bed?
-
I try to stay active, so why does every movement feel like a chore?
-
How can I lower the "background noise" of constant discomfort?
-
My physical pain is starting to drain my mental energy and patience—what can I do?
-
Is it possible to feel like myself again without just masking the symptoms?
-
Is living in pain just an inevitable part of "wear and tear"?
Inflammation is your body’s internal alarm system, but when it won't shut off, it impacts everything—When your inflammatory response is out of sync, even the simplest tasks feel heavy.
WHY YOUR BODY FEELS LIKE IT'S CONSTANTLY UNDER ATTACK
Chronic pain isn't always just "wear and tear"—it can be a signal from an immune system that hasn't found its way back to balance. Whether you're navigating the complexities of an autoimmune diagnosis, the persistence of chronic infections, or the frustration of neurological symptoms and food-triggered flares, the common thread is systemic inflammation.
-
Arthritis & Joint Degeneration: Whether autoimmune (Rheumatoid) or wear-and-tear (Osteoarthritis), chronic joint pain is fueled by pro-inflammatory cellular signals.
-
Autoimmune Conditions: When the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissue, it creates a self-perpetuating cycle of systemic inflammation.
-
Untreated Infections: Chronic, low-grade infections—including Lyme disease and other vector-borne illnesses—can hide from the immune system while driving persistent neurological and musculoskeletal pain.
-
Neurological Conditions: Inflammation in the nervous system can manifest as neuropathy, migraines, or complex regional pain syndromes.
-
Food Sensitivities: Reactive foods (like gluten or dairy) can trigger "leaky gut," allowing inflammatory markers to enter the bloodstream and cause pain far from the digestive tract.

HOW ARE WE DIFFERENT?
Chronic pain is rarely just a physical sensation; it is often the visible tip of a complex inflammatory iceberg. When pain persists, it frequently indicates that the body’s innate healing mechanisms are overwhelmed by underlying systemic "drivers". Our approach focuses on identifying these triggers—from hidden infections to food sensitivities—and restoring balance through a layered, patient-centered recovery model. Here is how we can help:
-
Multidisciplinary Team-Based Approach: Acupuncture and Asian bodywork provide many patients with symptom relief, especially if pain is due to a mechanical cause, but as a Naturopathic Doctor, Dr. Abigail brings her expertise in root-cause, whole-body assessments, clinical nutrition, herbal medicine and movement into every patient encounter. Additionally, Coach Elizabeth is available to help you succeed with diet and lifestyle changes.
-
Integrated Diagnostics: Dr. Abigail analyzes both standard labs to assess inflammatory response as well as advanced functional testing to identify untreated/undertreated infections and food sensitivities; all of which drive her recommendations.
-
Symptom management: While we prefer a root-cause approach to your plan, we recognize that symptom management can be a game changer; so we incorporate acupuncture, photobiomodulation and Asian bodywork to manage your pain levels while we get to the bottom of what's ailing you.
-
Collaboration: We don't only work with the providers in our office, we are happy to collaborate with the rest of your team members. We love a whole system approach, which can include physical therapy, conventional pain management and injection therapies, or even surgeries if needed. We are part of your team.
