• DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?

  • We would love to, but unfortunately this very much depends on your insurance provider.  The question to ask is if your insurace will cover acupuncture, which is the service most likely to be covered in the state of Michigan.  Sadly, Naturopathic medicine is not regulated in MI, and therefore not eligible for insurance coverage.  Because Dr. Abigail works under the delegation of an MD, some labs may be covered, but this is on a case by case basis so we do our best to let you know the out of pocket expesnese associated with these lab workups. OH AND WE DON'T BILL INSURANCE, BUT CAN PROVIDER YOU WITH DOCUMENTATION TO SUBMIT TO YOUR INSURANCE PROVIDERS. 

 

• DO YOU OFFER DISCOVERY CALLS/MEET AND GREETS?

  • Both Dr. DeWitt and Nurse Coach Elizabeth offer complimentary 15min Meet and Greets to better identify if you are a good fit for their services.  Dr. Abigail is unable to offer complimentary meet and greets at this time.  Freshwater Wellness does offer offers 15 min consultations for $25 with Nurse Coach Elizabeth, to better assess whether Dr. Abigail is an optimal fit for your health care goals. ​

• WHAT ABOUT LAB ASSESSMENTS?

  • Both Dr. Abigail and Dr. DeWitt are able to review labs you have had through other providers, to better inform Chinese Medical and Naturopathic recommendations.  Dr. Abigail also works under the oversight of a MI licensed MD access conventional and functional lab assessments as indicated.  PLEASE NOTE: integrative, functional and naturopathic medical assessments often incur an out of pocket expense, so Dr. Abigail will work with you to best assess whether these tests are necessary.  After all, financial investment is part of the wholistic/holistic health model!​

• DO YOU OFFER PRIMARY CARE?

  • THE SHORT ANSWER IS NO!! While, both Dr. Abigail and Dr. DeWitt are happy to collaborate with your PCP's and specialists, we do not act as primary care providers.  We request that you retain a primary care who can help you navigate conventional standard of care, including preventive screenings, annual medical evaluations, vaccine education, and insurance based specialist referrals. ​

 

• DO YOU OFFER VIRTUAL APPOINTMENTS? 

  • Dr. Abigail and Nurse Coach Elizabeth offer virtual appointments as needed and Dr. DeWitt offers only virtual appointments.  Please see our provider bios for more information regarding their areas of professional expertise to help identify which provider is best for you. ​
